Not at all. AquaFit sessions are conducted in a controlled pool with staff present at all times. Most exercises are done standing or with support bars and flotation aids. Swimming ability is not needed.
Completely different. You're training in water, not on land. The resistance, the buoyancy, the temperature, the muscle activation — it's a different kind of effort. Many people who find the gym repetitive or uncomfortable discover they love working out in water.
Wear jersey-material or pool-appropriate clothing. Cotton clothing is strictly not permitted in the pool. Bring a towel and a change of clothes — these are also available to purchase at the centre if needed.
